Our Purpose

Infonomenon exists to provide fast, transparent, and privacy-respecting search without the noise of artificial intelligence, algorithmic manipulation, or corporate tracking.

Core Principles

1. No AI, No Algorithms, No Manipulation

• No AI-generated summaries that hallucinate facts
• No algorithmic ranking that hides results based on profit
• No "personalization" that traps you in a filter bubble

2. Privacy First, Always

• No search history stored on our servers
• No tracking cookies or behavioral profiling
• Only bare minimum data collection necessary for functionality

3. Transparency Over Black Boxes

• Open about our sources (DuckDuckGo, Brave, Bing, Bluesky, Wikipedia, and more)
• No secret algorithms deciding what you see
• No hidden partnerships influencing rankings
• All data sources are free, public APIs

4. Speed and Simplicity

• No bloated interfaces or infinite scroll
• No ads disguised as results
• Clean, minimal design that respects your attention

What We Won't Do

• ❌ Sponsored results disguised as organic results
• ❌ Paywalls or premium tiers
• ❌ Browser fingerprinting or forced data collection

What We Will Do

• ✅ Keep search fast, simple, and transparent
• ✅ Respect your privacy absolutely
• ✅ Show real results from real sources
• ✅ Add features only when they serve users, not profits
• ✅ Keep user accounts optional, never required
• ✅ If advertising exists, keep it clearly labeled and never in top positions

Why No AI in Search?

AI in search hallucinates facts, removes agency, obscures sources, and centralizes power. We believe search should connect you to information — not replace it with a probabilistic guess.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026 · We keep this simple because we actually mean it.

What We Collect

We collect the absolute minimum required to operate the service:

• Search queries — Sent to our server to fetch results, then immediately discarded. Not stored, not logged.
• Server logs — Standard web server logs (IP, timestamp, request) kept briefly for debugging, then deleted automatically.
• Error reports — Anonymous crash data to fix bugs. No personal identifiers.

What We Don't Collect

• Your search history (not stored on our servers)
• Your IP address (not logged long-term)
• Your browsing history or cross-site behavior
• Personal information of any kind
• Device fingerprints

Local Storage

Features like saved searches, notes, settings, and dashboard configuration are stored entirely in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly use Bluesky sync.

Bluesky Integration

If you connect your Bluesky account:

• Your access token is stored in localStorage on your device only
• It's used to fetch your social feed, enable posting actions (like/repost/reply), and sync dashboard/profile data
• We never store your Bluesky credentials on our servers
• Dashboard and profile data can optionally be synced to your Bluesky account as AT Protocol records
• You can disconnect at any time from the nav bar
• All Bluesky features can be disabled in the Privacy Dashboard

Third-Party Services

Search results are fetched from DuckDuckGo, Bing, and Brave. Social posts from Bluesky. News from Google News RSS. Images from Wikimedia Commons and Unsplash. Congressional data from Congress.gov. Weather from Open-Meteo. Sports scores from ESPN and other public APIs. These services have their own privacy policies. We act as a proxy — your IP is not directly exposed to these services when using our server-side fetching.

Cookies

We use no tracking cookies. The only browser storage we use is localStorage for your preferences and saved data.

Children's Privacy

Infonomenon does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The service is general-purpose and not directed at children.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Acceptance

By using Infonomenon, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. That's it — no dark patterns here.

What Infonomenon Is

Infonomenon is a search aggregator. We fetch and display results from third-party search engines and public APIs. We are not responsible for the content of external websites linked in search results.

Acceptable Use

You may use Infonomenon for any lawful purpose. You may not:

• Attempt to scrape or abuse our API endpoints at scale
• Use the service to facilitate illegal activity
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or circumvent rate limiting
• Impersonate other users or entities

No Warranties

Infonomenon is provided "as is." We make no guarantees about uptime, accuracy of results, or availability of any specific feature. Search results come from third-party sources and may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Infonomenon and its operators are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to reliance on search results.

Bluesky Integration

When you connect your Bluesky account and use interaction features (like, repost, reply), you are acting through your own Bluesky account. You are responsible for any content you post or actions you take on Bluesky through our interface. Bluesky's own Terms of Service apply to those actions.

Intellectual Property

Search results and their content belong to their respective owners. Infonomenon does not claim ownership of any third-party content displayed in results.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We'll update the date at the top when we do.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Canada. Any disputes will be resolved in Canadian courts.

Infonomenon is committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all users. We believe in:

• Safety First — Protecting users from violence, harm, exploitation, and criminal activity
• Respect Others — No harassment, bullying, hate speech, or discrimination
• Be Authentic — No deception, fraud, or misleading content
• Follow the Rules — Comply with laws and platform policies

1. Safety First

Public Safety

Do not use Infonomenon to:

• Coordinate, promote, or recruit for criminal organizations, terrorist groups, or human trafficking networks
• Provide detailed instructions for committing crimes or terrorist acts
• Share violence content for harmful purposes or to exploit victims

Respectful Discourse

• Do not threaten others with death, serious harm, or express that others should be hurt or killed
• Do not promote, glorify, or incite violence against individuals or groups
• Do not share graphic violent content designed to shock, disturb, or intimidate others

Child Safety

We have zero tolerance for content that harms minors:

• Do not create, share, or promote content that sexualizes, exploits, or depicts minors in sexual or intimate contexts
• Do not engage in grooming behavior or inappropriate conduct toward minors
• Do not share personal information about minors that could pose safety risks

Privacy Protection

• Do not share home addresses, personal contact info, financial or medical data, or identification documents without consent
• Do not share sensitive private messages or communications you weren't authorized to share
• Do not share real-time location or other information that could pose immediate safety risks

2. Respect Others

Anti-Discrimination

Do not attack, harass, or incite hatred or discrimination against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics such as:

• Age, asylum-seeker/refugee status, caste, disability, disease, ethnicity
• Gender identity, immigrant status, race, religious affiliation
• Sex, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics

This includes hate speech, slurs, dehumanizing comparisons, supremacist content, and coordinated harassment campaigns.

Anti-Harassment

• Do not stalk, persistently target, or create malicious content designed to humiliate or degrade individuals
• Do not engage in coordinated harassment campaigns or abuse platform features for harassment
• Do not create single-purpose harassment accounts or use automated harassment systems

3. Be Authentic

Trust & Transparency

• Do not send spam or repeatedly post content in ways that disrupt normal service use
• Do not create, share, or promote financial scams, phishing attempts, or fraudulent fundraising
• Do not artificially manipulate features or social signals to gain unearned reach or mislead users
• Clearly identify commercial content, sponsored material, or advertising

Account Authenticity

• Do not impersonate others or official groups in ways that could mislead users
• Do not engage in deceptive account practices, including identity churning or handle-squatting
• Do not falsify documents or misrepresent your verification status

Information Integrity

• Do not share false or misleading information that could cause immediate real-world harm
• Do not coordinate to suppress voting or interfere with democratic processes
• Do not share false information about voting procedures, locations, times, eligibility, or results

4. Follow the Rules

Regulated Goods & Services

Do not use Infonomenon to unlawfully sell, advertise, or facilitate commercial transactions for:

• Controlled substances, illegal drugs, prescription medications, or drug paraphernalia
• Weapons, firearms, ammunition, or other dangerous materials
• Stolen goods, counterfeit items, forged documents, or other restricted goods

Intellectual Property & Copyright

• Do not infringe copyrights, steal content, or remove attribution or watermarks
• Do not violate trademarks or patents, impersonate brands or businesses
• Do not share unauthorized streams or downloads

Site Security

• Do not attempt to compromise, exploit, bypass, or abuse Infonomenon's systems, security features, APIs, or infrastructure
• Do not attempt to circumvent rate limits or other protective measures

Bluesky Integration

When you connect your Bluesky account to Infonomenon:

• You agree to follow Bluesky's Community Guidelines
• You are responsible for any content you post or actions you take on Bluesky through our interface
• Bluesky's moderation policies apply to all Bluesky content displayed in Infonomenon
• We may remove or restrict access to Bluesky features if you violate these guidelines

Enforcement

Violations of these guidelines may result in:

• Content removal or restriction
• Temporary or permanent suspension of Bluesky integration features
• Rate limiting or service restrictions
• Permanent ban from using Infonomenon
